Actually no. You'll find most hauling or non-pulling track machines to be driven from the front. Depending on who you talk to and their intentions when they built it, by driving from the front side, the track has less stress when the guide rollers roll over the slack side of the track. Some will even argue more traction, but.........

You have a tractor with tracks dont you plowboy??
