SE PA | If you're coming out of the field a lot, or have uneven terrain, the walking beam is the best. Period. We have a tandem here with hendrickson air suspension, and it rides for sure better than the walking beam, but it gets 'stuck' easily. The suspension has a LOT less 'flex' for going over humps, into barns (we deliver hay) or whatever..... when it's empty, and the ground is uneven, then the power divider is locked in, cause if one wheel comes off the ground, that's it. It's more forgiving when loaded, but not impossible to get a wheel off the ground. For level ground, and out on the road, it's certainly a nicer ride - no more of the entire rear end off the ground over bumps on the highway....
Not sure what your new truck will weigh, but I'd sorta lean towards the heavier side???? We're about 17.5k empty.
