Here is a pic of the star wheel. It is very blurry, but maybe you've looked at yours and it will make sense.

As you can see the wheel is turned all the way down. Since it can be turned only  about two notches at a time I don't know how many turns. It was about in the middle when I started, now it is on the bottom of the hole.

If you stick your little finger in the hole you will feel the spring can be moved easily.

I've done this mod on a 7150 and on the 2188 with success, your mileage may vary.
