| I would take a look at fuel tank vents, might be holding a lock on fuel when you get half empty. Also check suction line in tank, does it pull from top of tank or bottom? If pulling from top of tank it could be line is broke half way down in tank. Could be a rag in tank, that floats in full tank, then pulls to outlet when half full, stopping you. I really doubt it would be your carb. I would take a look at spark, but most likely you have points and condenser system, doubt that's it either. Now if it was a Chevy with HEI system, I would look there. You could run all morning, then in the heat of the day, if you shut them off they won't start again till they cool. Those you need to replace HEI coil, module, etc. | |
