Doesn't know his job or don't have the experience. We have found it much easier to train new cart drivers if we just tell them what speed we want them to run on the radio, usually normal combine speed in even stuff or a couple tenths slower in uneven stuff or topping off. We get them the right distance out by following a track in the stubble or row and tell them to look straight ahead and go the speed we tell them - that's all they have to do when under the combine - keep it simple. This keeps them from looking back all the time and running the risk of running into the combine. 35' header on the 9760 is plenty close.

If they are not very good it keeps them from screwing up too much. If they are good they pick it up and start figuring things out on their own. Lots easier and less stress on the new cart operator and combine operator than giving lots of verbal instructions and a few close calls. As they get better we give them tips. Kind of the Japanese instead of the American way of learning.
