| Needing fuel to start suggests that your fuel pump is shot. If the flow valves start to go bad, or get junk stuck in them, the pump looses efficiency, and won't pump initially at lower engine rpm's. Hence a dry carb. I switched mine to an electric inline pump. Be sure to locate it lower than the tank, as we've found they don't like to lift fuel. Also be sure to put a filter before AND after the pump. Also with an electric pump, if your machine has been setting a while, your fuel system will charge up as soon as your turn your key on, without cranking the engine. | |
