near Orleans, France | here in France we have mostly dump trailers, i think it's because we have smaller farms than yours, with smaller barns and yard, it's easier to go in reverse gear.
we also don't have swing augers but we have pits that contains the capacity of one or 2 trailers loads.
common trailer size in cereals areas are from 12 to 24 metric tons load (max legal weight on the road is 40 metric tons) max legal speed is 25 km/h (16 mph) in france (hydraulic brakes) , 40 km/h in germany (25 mph) with air brakes.
dump trailer are also used for all purposes, sugar beets, potatoes, fertiliser, lime, garvel and stones, earth, manure, ....
trucks are rare in french farms, because too small farms, no long way to the elevator, axle tax, fuel tax for road diesel, need a special driver license (no driver license needed for a tractor, you can have a 16 year old boy on a tractor with a total weigth 40 tons, sometimes it may be dangerous on our small roads)
i'll try to take pics at the local trailer factory tomorow
