Subject: RE: Old barn lumber --- Is it worth anything?

Some folks around here are buying 12" lumber to make outdoor furniture...no one interestred in mine because it was painted white, not red.

I saw dismantled barn frame...nice dimensional lumber, every nail pulled...sell for $5 for the pile. Someone got paid about about $0.01 for their labor.

If you let someone strip the barn chances are you will be left with nails all over. I'm taking one down next week: dig a hole, push the barn into the hole, then burn. Most nails shoudl be buried that way.
