Subject: RE: Massey 220 swathers?

We have a 1991 Massey 200, which would be similar. We have a pick-up reel and half moon lifters and it works quite well in canola. Much better than your V400 or our IH 4000. We do not use sheers on the end of table. Ours is 30' and is in my opinion, a little too big for the drive and knife. A 25' is probably OK. Have had the wobble box rebuilt( 1800 hrs) and occasional knife breakage. Opening is large, even for the 30' and the Isuzu motor is bullet proof. Some 220's may have a Schumacher Drive...like Honey Bee headers use. The new series Masseys do for sure. This would likely eliminate wobble box and knife problems. But every machine has a few weaknesses, and overall we are happy with it after 2000hrs.
