Jim from your Mapdot you look like you are a couple hrs west of us. If you would like you could come ride with us this fall and see 3 Macdons in use, 25'ridged, 30'flexdraper, 36'flexdraper. I personally hate having my crop threshed in the header would prefer it to happen in the combine. The MD draper will cut as low as a traditional flex head and save beans from reel shatter.
I'm in Harper County, so probably not too far away. In my grain sorghum, I either solid or in 15" rows, with a draper, does that eleviate the need for the milo fingers on the guards? Do the Macdons (36') come with their own transport trailer wheels like JD? What is your impression of the JD compared to the MD? I've never really looked at a MD up close, but I assume the 36' folds up into a V shape so as to go down the roads? What brand combines do you run, and what adapters are needed to fit differant machines? Give me a general price range of what they cost. Quite a bit of questions I threw at you, but I guess that's what you get for replying to my thread!(lol)
