Callao Missouri | We had one and I wish we had it back. Only thing to check out is the upper drive role clutch, if it is red have it looked at if it is black, the parts have already failed and have been fixed. There was an update on that as the bushing in the upper sprocket on the clutch would fail taking the roller with it.
I would splurge for one with net if you could find it, but $7200 is very cheep for a good baler. You will tear out a splice or two here and there and the only thing I learned is put the old clip type splices back in. I put in a new style JD splice and it failed in a hart beet because of how the belt goes around a couple rollers. They will eat hay and make a good bale, we baled some silage hay with ours and it would bale with water runing out of the baler. If you ever plug it up, just raise the tail gate and turn on the pto, I never had to get out to pull hay out in several years. The 688 are the same baler only newer with a few improvements, Jon | |
