It's a great idea, Alan, but I'd be surprised if the manufacturers ever support it in any way but reluctantly. Getting the wheels turning today hopefully will produce results somewhere down the road. I read your posts elsewhere asking for input on various points. Realistically, the logical approach is going to be to match the greatest percentage of machines in the market, which means the standard should match or be an easy adaptation from Deere's existing attachment which has been in use for 30 years and is found on easily half of the combines in service today. It is quite similar to the skid steer situation where Bobcat's plate was eventually adapted as standard. |
