Dennis SEND - 7/20/2006 14:32 Mike, Is it possible that the direction of the bars on the tires make a difference as to how fast it goes around going one direction if the bars are running backwards there is more slip because I know a tractor has much less traction in reverse than in forward and now that I say that I am going to look if both tires on a tower run the same direction or does one run opposite so that a pivot will have traction going both directions. Nope, the system was set up to run both directions, so each tower has one tire going one way and the other going to the opposite way. Also are there any hills or low ground where their could be mud pushing in the pivot track and going one direction the tire slips a little more than going the other direction. Yes, but the direction that would logically be slowing it down is the faster direction. Like I said, it doesn't make any sense. But then again if I had any sense would I be fooling with an irrigator? |
