Subject: RE: John Deere VRT questions

It happens randomly. The lever is never touched. What causes it is the speed sensor is near the back of the front driveshaft in an area filled with oil, the oring on the senor fails and oil periodically drips into the sensor and shorts it out for a couple of seconds. It was expained to me that the tractor thicks the front end is going faster than the transmission thinks and it trys to catch up by speeding up.
