Nevada, Iowa | I guess I really have nothing to offer here and probably shouldn't waste your time by commenting but I am somewhat surprised to hear that the sleeve is loose. I have heard some extreme stories about how hard they can be to pull being a dry sleeve. It would make me wonder if there was some way to weld it in place but if you have to completely strip the block to get that done it may cost more than she's worth. I've got a 1256 and a lot of good memories, she doesn't get used too hard anymore. I put a head gasket in some time ago, they didn't skimp on material in those days.
