Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
We have a fellow in central ND that is building a device for smoothing hay fields. The machine consists of a large 3 section roller to push rocks in the ground and a dozer blade running in front of the rollers at ground level to shave off the gopher mounds and ruts. The machine also has a mounted Gandy type, air herbicide applicator for applying seed/herbicide/fertilizer. A glyphosate burn down to kill the old alfalfa stand,a pass or two with the roller /shaver machine and a reseed with a JD 750 notill drill seems to do a good job of revitalizing a hay field without resorting to full tillage.
