I have not tried the notill alfalfa myself, but others in the area have. Half a ton of alfalfa will pay for the tillage thats not much over a 3 year stand life. This field was so rough that even if notill was better I would have still tilled it. I am not anti notill. I just notilled a pivot of sweet corn. Every practice has it's place and blanket statements don't fit in farming. Every situation is different. I know about as much about farming your farm as you do about mine.
