Around here the NH discbine cutterbars run longer than the deere's have been. But from what I've heard changing the cutterbar oil from 80-90 to 75-90SSL synthetic will increase cutterbar life 3-4 times or more. Around here theonly problem has been guys hitting steel posts or the occassinal steel tine harrow laying in the weeds. Drive motors come back to Suar-Danfoss (used to be Saur-Sunstrand and Danfoss)hydraulics. There is only about 3 major hydraulic manufacturers left in the world so that makes for few choices from the manufacturers point of view. Saur-Danfoss has caused some problems on combine and self propelled forage chopper hydrostats as well. |
