| Mike, my wife runs a business that does business in both state & has always had to file income taxe forms in both states based on the sales amount for each state. Also has to pay sales taxes to both states, though in Illnois it is called a "use tax". Use to be lots of fun keeping everything stariaght until QuickBooks came along. What really throws a monkey wrench into things that each state requires a different pay period on the sales tax. One yr. IN may have her file quarterly & in Il it may be monthly. The next year it may be just the opposite or only one will change. It's based on the amount of sales in each state that causes it to vary. Also, each has a different time of month it has to be paid In Indiana its the end of the month, Il is the 20th of the month. | |
