I think Bushhog fixed the problem you are worried about. Ours seems very overbuilt in the area you are refering to and we have used it in very difficult situations including mowing dam and lake edges, ditches, 3-4 inch tree stumps, etc. It has performed perfectly and looks rock solid. I would not be afraid of the 2615.
