Near Richmond, IN | I used to be on the cemetery board here and I can tell you why we had this requirement. We had companies that would sell a headstone and then have someone of their choice dig the foundation and wouldn't do it correctly. Then when things went bad the family who paid the funeral home or whoever sold them the stone would complain and want us to fix the problem even though we had nothing to do with it because the other people wouldn't stand behind their work. We gave up fighting it and got someone we knew would do it correctly and they were the only ones allowed to pour foundations. This same person does them exclusively for many cemeteries around here just for that same reason. | |
