| Also I have plenty of grass. Picked up another 400 acres recently. Renting for a decent price, $15 an acre.Keeping in mind in Northern ND we only get so much out of the pasture.
Dont necessary need the cash flow, but don't want to pass on the favorable market. Just sold some cull cattle, 1250#s average was $1900 a head. Hard to keep at them prices, but they are certified angus and never pulled a calf nor had a single issue with claiming calves. Makes it hard to sell too. Only run 110 head/pairs, small operation.
Like an older fella near by told me, sell the young ones and all you have is old cows.
Also risky if they don't bred back. Then 2 years of grass/feed with no return.
