Would a bull rider flak jacket help me during calving while carrying a flailing calf (lobbing head) or just unpredictable situations that can happen during calving?

About 3 weeks ago, I slipped and fell about 4 vertical feet onto a gate hitting squarely in my pect area (about bench press press area). No broken ribs according to doctor but still fighting some stabbing pains in various areas of my chest. Would a jacket help with support while I’m slowly recovering?

Short answer: Yes, it would have helped you in that situation. Now that you are 'sore' it won't do as much good, and might even put pressure on where it hurts, depending on where you are bruised, but had you been wearing one when you fell, I have no doubt it would have reduced any injuries. Try one on and move around, some people say it restricts mobility, others say not much. Only know a few guys who wear them, but I will say one or two said they think it saved them a cracked or broken rib.
