Southern Ohio | Are you talking about the "Jake's Wire Tighteners?" I've been dabbling with those for about a year now, especially on a pasture where the barbwire fenceline is up, down, and curvy while surrounded by woods and takes a beating from trees and limbs ....... bluntly, going to the end post is just a waste, for me at least at this location. I really like how quick and easy they are, and you can get it really tight, but I also don't have the long-term data on how the wire holds up. But they have earned their place on my farm. I've also bought one pack of an off-brand, and they are MUCH LESS robust than the "Jake's" brand buuut they still work, just not as well. Definitely get the dedicated tool to help tighten and don't think you'll be able to use screwdrivers or other contraptions to tighten (I can be stubborn). | |
