I have a good friend that did a lot of diving back in the day. Lots of saltwater diving and both ocean and inland cave diving. He and his diving buddies used Trimix and rebreathers a lot. Long story short now that he and his buddies are older guys...the sport was harder on their lungs than they thought when they were younger guys.
