Shimmy1, Cook the roast in the oven at 280 not 350. It will take longer but it will be much better. Bay leaf, salt, pepper and sliced onions on top. From frozen it will take about 4 hours. Maybe more depending on the size of the roast.
If you cook the roast the day before, place it in the fridge over night. The next morning, slice it, pour some of the juices over the top and reheat.

Round steak thawed salt & pepper in a 9X13 glass baking dish, with a mixture of salsa (16 ounces mild or whatever you like), 1 cup brown sugar and a little water to rinse the salsa jar, poured over the top, cover with foil. Bake at 325 for 2-3 hours until tender.
