| Why do you say it could not have been the rain. Being we don't generally get rain in the hay season in this goofy place known as central California. I only have seen hot hay several time. Once the cows got in the barn and peed on it for days as they eat it. Not a big amount to start with and not much left. The other was in winter, and a storm ripped a 30 x 40 chunk of roof off in very wet spell. Both time the hay was to hot pick up without gloves. So, I figured not too far from igniting.
The only barn fire I know of locally was big bales of alfalfa. Baled at the same moisture as the small squares of alfalfa. | |
