Subject: Hay burning

Northwest kansas
We bailed 300 acres of irrigated alfalfa the end of September. Looked dry, moisture monitor on bailer said it was dry. Had samples sent in and they came back at 14 and 15% moisture. Bailed in 3x4x8 large squares. 3 weeks ago we had a smoldering spot so pulled everything apart and got it put out. Last night we had 100 bails burn. We have had quite a bit of rain the first part of November and the stacks were not tarped. We are stumped and there isn't any large squares done here to ask others. Why are we having these stacks burn 2 months later?
