Eastern NE KS | These are pretty simple and reliable machines. I own a 7, 5' bale trailer that unloads by using a long foldout handle to give me leverage to start the tipping action.
Mine has two latch bars each welded to the center frame pipe. That should be preferable to a single latch bar. I saw a single at a welding shop being repaired. The latch bar ripped a section of the center pipe away and dumped its load. The owner said he crosses a lot of terraces and evidently cause too much stress on a single area of pipe. Maybe the 2 latch bars spreads that stress. I too cross terraces but have not had that problem.
Another neighbor had a electric over hydraulic dump. This is an improvement because dumping is triggered from the pickup cab (unless there is a mechanical safety latch). I have to be careful to maintain adequate room for the foldout handle. It will stick out 6-7' on the left side of the trailer when in use.
Go Bob sells several brands and designs. They even have a hydraulic dump that will haul three rows stacked in a pyramid- push on from the rear.
