Madison Co. Virginia | Terminate the stand by going through a season or two of annuals, and then replant to a high-quality perennial pasture mix. As time and money allow, install a watering system, good perimeter fences, and subdivide it into about four paddocks.
The goal would be to keep my options open; to either cut hay off of it myself, run stockers on it, or rent it out for either use. By not subdividing too tightly, I could keep it usable for hay. But still have the fences and waterers in place so it can be usable for cattle. | |
