Slide the biggest nut that will go in the hole in there and weld the heck out of it to the bolt. Then weld washer on the nut, and another nut on top. gets to be quite the process. If that don't work you can probably torch them out and re tap the holes
If you decide to drill one out, Drive a big old impact Allan wrench socket in there with a hammer and use impact to back it out. I've had the same old set of napa 1/2" drive Allan sockets for years and I've never damaged one driving it into a drilled out bolt or plug. It doesn't always work, but most times it will.
DON’T try to torch them out. If the remaining bolt stub is very long, it will be very difficult to get it burned out. Any remaining bolt will be hard as stone after the flame working on it. First hand experience dealing with the aftermath of a failed attempt to torch broken bolts out of a casting. Fortunately it was a relatively small part that I was able to get under a mill and use a carbide end mill to cut through the flame hardened remains of the broken bolt. |
