Actually i look at it like this. 150 a head is expensive until you turn up 5 or 10 head short. I think it would be nice to know where your cows are. we ranch in area where the gates get left open time to time. One time we went to gather in the fall and were 20 cows short. We did find them but they were a couple miles away from where they needed to be. It may also cut down on some cow thefts since the thieve are probably not going to take the time to cut the tag out before they load them. Just some random thoughts on where they maybe useful.
