Subject: Stockers grazing cover crop, loomix … polio

Yep, after 6 weeks off the cow, calves grazing native range and cover crop with loomix started getting polio. Had 6 blind circle walkers today, vet was positive it’s polio and told me how to treat, but we really have no clue what’s causing it all of a sudden?

The cover crop consists of dried up dormant sorghum Sudan, sunflower, safflower, lentils, volunteer wheat, a few wild oats, BUT THE RADISH TOPS AND COLLARD TOPS ARE STILL GREEN. As per a post a few weeks back, I’ve been struggling with some bloat, but I got that under control by electric fence and smaller pieces at a time.

According to the loomix sweet label, there are 3 different forms of sulfates. I wonder if I got a hot load or something ?

Any know connection to brassica tops and polio?

Today was a long day, hoping to put a stop to it somehow, I got at least one of them to improve a few hours after the thiamine , dex shot

I pulled the loomix troughs tonight- at least until I get a call from their nutritionist.
