Driftless SW Wisconsin | This hay is just 2nd crop mixed grasses with a little alfalfa. The alfalfa is about 8 years since planted and wearing out but the other grasses and some clover make it a pretty good all around diet. A mineral lyx barrel, salt block and good water and they do well. No corn, silage or stalks. I stopped growing corn when I found and encouraged genetics that can thrive and marble without corn. With the dry spell this summer, it dried in the field nicely and was stored in the shed in the background. | |
