Subject: RE: Keeping an orphan calf healthy

SW OH
I've got 2 orphans in the back yard that my wife has been raising. Meatloaf was born February first. When 6 days old he was moved to the kitchen and fed with a syringe until he learned to suck about 20 days old. Not sure if he ever got any colostrum.

Roxy was ignored by her mother as soon as she hit the ground. She was only in the kitchen 2 nights. She got thawed colostrum from the freezer after her bath.

They will survive if you put forth the effort.
