Subject: RE: Skid loader for small feeding operation?

SE Wisconsin
I do something similar. Feed out 30 ish head for freezer beef. I feed free choice hay in a hay manager ring .. it limits waste and is easy to feed in.... Then I have 48' of bunk space I bucket feed grain in... It is not too bad until we are feeding 26 buckets a day.... We could go to a steer stuffer but then I think we lose the ability to track cattle health etc.... there are far far far better cattlemen on this board than I... I like having the cattle coming up to the feedbunk every day morning and night... If they don't, I know to check that steer out next feeding.... I recently bought auger bucket for my skid loader. It's pretty handy. I have three gravity boxes with feed in the shed, I load into the auger bucket and drive down the feedbunks. Works pretty good. Others are right, probably doesn't pencil out well. But I have the skid loader, I use it all the time...
