McCanna, ND | Pushing bales with the loader is the last thing I do on purpose. Makes me cringe when I have to do it.
I’m guessing a bale last 2 days roughly? What are you trying to accomplish by having 5 bales out at once?
My cows would eat 10% of each one and leave the rest. It seems to be better (more efficient) to put hay out every other day vs a weeks worth at a time.
If anything make a chute that protrudes into the pen so cows have access to 3 sides but not quite a bale deep. Load with 5-6 bales but make it wide enough for a tractor. Use the 3pt to push the bales ahead vs the loader. | |
