That looks pretty nice. I’ve never seen either in person but have always thought the internal milking would be easier on the cows then backing off the external milking rotaries. I’ll admit I don’t know about the herringbone milking, I thought you’d be milking from behind in the notch where the cip drawer pulls out. We’ve been in parallel stalls for 24 years and not sure about having to deal with going around that leg. I’m sure the vertical pipes up front are farther from the cow than they appear but if not I see several locations where they could,and will, get their head stuck and wedged. You have some really nice cows there.


A farm in California has the same rotary as me, but milks from the rear. It looks to be a little longer reach from the rear than the side. It would not be hard to change it to the rear, but once you run it for a while, you can see that the side works better.

There are a couple safeties that stop the rotary from turning if anything gets pinched. No cow injuries so far in almost a year.
