TC, I looked at some Panicum I have while driving around this morning. Mine is about half brown/mature, so I'd think you're ahead of me. I think your plan to let them eat/bed on it is about right. I'd think you'd get more volume by disc mowing it, but I wouldn't put much effort in it, and I'm not even sure it would have to be dead dry to bale it
