Buhl, ID | Not so much anymore. The small ones only bring a couple hundred $ on auction but the bigger 10-12 ft are high demand.

I was at a scrap yard by Belle Fourche SD they cut side walls from large tires from mining loaders to use for erosion control along creek banks. He said they used to use crushed cars but the enviros put a stop to that. These were 14 or 16 ft tires that would make excellent manure scrapers.
