Subject: New Fence

I need some ideas to fence around a creek bottom field perimeter.

This is for angus cattle. We typically run 5 strand barb on t posts with an offset hot wire on fiberglass rods. This new area has a small drainage creek and does flood up to around a foot or so during wet springs. No really fast water but does have some movement.

The area has a lot of reeds canary grass which gets 8' tall in the spring. We typically can't graze this area until after the spring rain slows down because of the water standing but it's fantastic summer and fall grazing. The grass is very tall by the time we get in it.

I was leaning toward either all smooth wire on 3/4 fiberglass rod 4 or 5 strand. I've also thought of 1 hot smooth wire mixed in with the rest barb all on fiberglass posts.

I expect the barbwire will be a problem with the flooding and catching grass debris.
