How much do pellets cost? Who hauls the earlage and what does that cost?
I don’t see how you can harvest dry corn, truck it to town, pay to dry it, then truck corn and pellets back out to the farm, grind the corn, and come out ahead vs just putting up earlage. Earlage is ready to go right out of the bag. There’s no extra grinding, you don’t pay drying, you save some trucking, and you get more feed per acre. |
