Will not last long in soybeans without the boot. Not sure how you are going to find a replacement. It is not a simple rubber cap, it is crimped or wired in place. I have drilled and tapped a grease in original Case drive head. If the boot is good you can punch a hole in the crease and use a syringe each morning to add grease. Lately I have been buying the drive head from Sloan Express for half the price as OEM. I can't drill a hole in the side to put a grease fitting in these. There must be a hard layer right before the ball socket. I grease these through the boot.
