Subject: John Deere 1380 swather issue

SC NE
I've got an old 1380 swather that acts like either the PTO pump isn't putting out enough pressure or the hydraulic motor is leaking by. In dryland alfalfa it runs fine, heavy 1st cutting it jerks if driving too fast. Last fall I cut some milo stalks that worked ok, but it plugged a couple times and would jerk if the crop was fed too fast. This spring I tried cutting oats with it, they were heavy and green so the swather wanted none of that. I had the 4640 running wide open in 1st gear and it would start jerking and plug every 100 feet or so. When it plugs, nothing plugs tight, it's not like a slug plugs the rolls or the auger.

Does anyone know what kind of pressure the motor needs to operate so I can isolate if my problem is the pump or the motor? I think it's the same hydraulic set up as the 1600 swathers too.
