Sunburst Montana | Two Cylinder Terry - 9/17/2024 21:22 What do y'all think about the sound guard cab? Does the post in the middle drive anyone else crazy? What do you guys have to say about it?
We had a 4640 for 18 years and 2950, 3255, 8440,8850, and 8960 at various times. Post never bothered me any. We even had other different brand of tractors to compare to. Was tight getting in but once in was very comfortable and the layouts of the controls were unsurpassed. I liked sitting way back and felt on a 86 series the dash/steering wheel was too close to you in your lap no matter how you adjusted the seat. Some will say JD held on to the SGB too long and true that is but did it hurt JD?????? Sure AC had a better cab with the 8000 series but then you had to put up with the rest of the tractor. I always thought the visibility was good on a SGB because the corner posts are further back and I am was always looking to the right side plowing counter clockwise around the fields before no-till and GPS.
