You're probably on to something with the Hondas. We had Polaris first which was an absolute disaster. Now on to a set of Seadoo Sparks and they haven't been that bad. Still burn through batteries, kids get junk sucked into impellers in shallow water, pretty picky on fresh high test gas or they run rough. Had some software updates that helped a few issues, had a wiring harness problem that may or may not have been dealer service related since they split the Spark hulls for service that required tow off the lake, two weeks off the water and back and forth to dealer.

I love riding them and will always have them....just saying mixing the headaches of a jet ski with what could be the "no stress" pontoon life if you went with a regular setup seems like a mistake to me.

For that matter we have a 22' pontoon with a 75hp Suzuki that just goes. Always starts, runs like a top and even though you run it every weekend I think we could make a full season on a single tank of gas the way they get used.
