SCWisconsin | Possibly my truck's hiccups have already been discussed on here. I'm a hit and miss reader. As follows, and by the way, regarding the issues with my info touch screen, my previous 2016 (nearly identical Duramax) had the exact same screen issues.
Info Touch Screen
The screen will began to change displays all on it's own. See pics. It also will become inactive. Some days it works perfect, others not. I do know this is a common problem and many Google posts. Very frustrating and why GM sold this crap for years. (As I said, my 16 did the same thing). It's been a while since I have Googled fixes / changeouts, since quite frankly it has worked thus far since purchasing the truck.
What say you? Can I purchase and install a new touch screen myself? (Seems I saw a Google post several years ago)
Check Engine Light
Consequently, within the last two weeks, check engine light comes and goes away. I did have an independent check with two (2) of his generic code readers.
Each came up with P133E. Later that day I happened to be close to a GMC dealer. He got same code. #7 Cylinder glow plug. Light has not been on last 2 days.
Any suggestions? Get it fixed, let it go for a while?
My guess is these two issues are not related. But then again, I don't know. Feed back on either of the two topics appreciated. BTW: truck has 51,000 miles. No tough jobs. Highway miles mostly. (Love the MPG!).
Oh.... I just thought of 3rd possible concern. (Maybe nothing). Tranny shifting under 'medium' acceleration . I am not sure which gear(s) it is. 1st going 2nd? 2nd going to 3rd? I don't think it is 3rd going to 4th. Anyway, just a little harsher shift (not a clunk) than other gears. Multiple clutch pack shift? Need some tuning?
