250 psi is probably enough disengage them but 275-400 would be best. There are several reasons the discs could be burnt. If your hydros are getting worn, you could be losing charge pressure when the hydro is pulling hard. You can usually tell if this happens because of its bad enough to cause a brake issue, your ladder will also drop because of the loss of charge pressure. The other possibilites are that the brake could have been released at idle and the machine started to drive before the brake was fully released or the brake was applied while machine still moving. They are very small discs and only meant to be used as a park brake.
