You need a dot #. You can go into missouri 35 miles with farm plates and dot number. If you are going to quincy , you are pushing it. If you are going to canton or Alexandria, you are good to go. Illinios is a whole different ballgame. If you are going to warsaw, I wouldn't worry. Beyond that on a main road, you are fresh meat.
