I've got a 540C 2012 model. Check the wiring harness that is between the alternator & frame work on the RH side of engine. Ours was pinched and rubbing. The second issue I had was with the alternator under the A/C compressor. The wire for the regulator had rubbed on a hose? or something & was grounding out once in a while.
